Help is at hand

Before you get in touch, you may find what you’re looking for here. All of the information you need to help you play online is available on our website.

New operator of The National Lottery

  1. I have seen there is a new operator of The National Lottery, what does that mean?

From 1st February 2024, the operator of The National Lottery is Allwyn. For players, very little will change immediately. However, Allwyn has ambitious and exciting plans to transform The National Lottery over the next decade – so you’ll begin to see many great changes and improvements over the coming months and years. If you want to know more about Allwyn, please visit the Allwyn website.

  2. If I win a prize from a ticket I bought before the operator changed, will I still get my prize?

Yes, of course! All tickets purchased through a National Lottery retailer or online will still be valid as long as they are claimed within 180 days after the day of the draw. Please note that prizes over £500 will no longer be paid out in Post Offices but will be paid directly from Allwyn. For more information, visit our How to claim page.

  3. As an online player, is my personal data safe? Are there any changes in how my data is handled?

There will be no changes to your online account or the way you play National Lottery games on our website and app. As the new operator of The National Lottery, Allwyn will now be handling your personal data – which will remain protected to the same high standards and is processed in accordance with the ways set out in The National Lottery Privacy Policy. As custodians of the National Lottery, we are committed to following industry best practices to ensure your data is stored safely and securely, as well as protecting the confidentiality, accuracy and availability of the information we collect about you. To find out more, please read our Privacy Policy.

  4. I am a Direct Debit player, do I need to do anything?

No, the transfer of your Direct Debit from Camelot to Allwyn has been done automatically and will come into effect from 1st February 2024. From this date onwards, the reference on your bank/building society statement will appear as 'Allwyn Ent Ltd' and we’ll also write to you to confirm this. If you would like more information on Direct Debits, please go to our Direct Debit guide.

  5. Can I still buy National Lottery tickets and Scratchcards from my local retailer?

Of course – we’re delighted that the vast majority of retail partners will continue to sell National Lottery products and Games in their stores. There are a small percentage of stores that will no longer be selling The National Lottery after 1st February 2024. However, please be reassured that, with 40,000+ retail partners across the UK, you should very easily be able to find a local store to purchase your favourite National Lottery games.
