New Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Code Gives Players a Free Gen 2 Pokemon (2024)

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet have started a new distribution that is giving players a free Porygon2. The Pokemon will be available to claim in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet until June 10, and although it's not one of the rarest critters, this copy of the Pokemon has some characteristics that make it unique.

The Pokemon franchise has a habit of releasing codes that allow players to redeem items and Pokemon, and it's no different with Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. At the beginning of the year, Pokemon players had a last chance to redeem a Master Ball and a Shiny Lucario, while the Hisuian Zoroark distribution ended in February. Meanwhile, the Pawmot distribution announced in March continues until next year. Now, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet have announced another Mystery Code, and with it, trainers can add one more Pokemon to their collections.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet have unveiled a new Mystery Code that gives players a free Porygon2 until June 10. To claim Porygon2, players must go to the main menu, then Poke Portal, Mystery Code, and enter the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet codeNA1CTR1CKR00M. The event runs until 23:59 UTC and celebrates this weekend's North America International Championships by giving players a copy of the Porygon 2 used by Nils Dunlop to win the Europe International Championships.

Porygon2 is a Normal-Type Pokemon introduced in Gen 2 that appears when Porygon is traded while holding the Update item. Porygon has a more square design, while Porygon 2 has a more rounded appearance to reflect its evolution to the latest technologies. While it's possible to get Porygon2 in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet by normal means, the distribution version stands out for being a Flying Tera Type that knows Tera Blast, Ice Beam, Recover, and Trick Room. This is also a level 50 Porygon2 with ability Download and Quiet nature that comes with the Eviolite item and the Battle Champion and Partner ribbons.

While the distribution of Porygon2 will only last a few days, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet have other codes that players can redeem. Announced in 2023, the distribution of Revavroom with Fighting Tera Type ends in October this year. On June 30 and August 30, the Gyarados and Cetitan distributions end, while only in 2025 will the codes that are giving players an Expert Belt and 30 Quick Balls expire. Other Pokemon Scarlet and Violet distributions, which have no end date until now, include the Kitakami Rotom Phone, and the Mythical Pecha Berry.
